The practical bits
Privacy and policies.
Your privacy
When you book with me, I collect only what I need to work with you: your name, contact details, and what you choose to tell me about why you are here. Because this is health-related work, that information is protected under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
I hold your information securely, and I do not share it with anyone else, except in the limited circumstances described in the FAQ above, or where you have asked me to. Bookings and payments are handled through this website, which stores your details on its own secure systems.
You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just email me.
I keep session records for [seven] years, as required for health information in New Zealand, and then securely destroy them.
Cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to move or cancel a session. See the FAQ above for the details.
If you need urgent help
This is not a crisis service, and I am not available between sessions for urgent support. If you need help right now, please call or text 1737 to speak with a trained counsellor, free of charge, any time. In an emergency, call 111.
Concerns
If something about our work together does not sit right with you, please tell me first or email. You can also contact the Social Workers Registration Board, which I am registered with, or the Health and Disability Commissioner.
